History
The old Lazuli Lake was called "water park" and consisted of some of the rides the new park has. Here are the renovated rides with their changes discussed.
Hurricane
Old
New
The main difference between the two is that the old Hurricane was used with boats, while the new version is used with minecarts. Due to the square shape of the old slide and the fact that boats can't go up walls, the concept didn't work well. This new ride allows riders to swing back and forth in the funnel like the slides in real life. The slide layout was changed, the shade of green was changed, and the new slide doesn't end in the tower where it started. The new slide is also much larger, and feels more like a slide you would find in real life. The new slide's funnel isn't enclosed, so spectators can watch riders slide through the new Hurricane.
Crazy River
Old
New
The old Crazy River was too steep and unsafe, as there was about an 80% chance of falling off the slide. The new slide is less steep, and is much longer. The ponds actually look like ponds, and the slide splits into two for a short segment. That being said, the new slide isn't as crazy as the old Crazy River.
Rapids
Old
New
The main difference between the two is that the green and blue lane swapped spots on the new slide. The exit lane is longer on the new slide, and the blue lane isn't the poking out, which it was in the old slide. This ride is a nostalgic throwback to the first waterslide I've ever made in Minecraft.
The Drop
Old
New
This slide probably undergone the least amount of changes. Riders enter the old start capsule from the back, where as riders enter through the left side on the new slide. The rest of the slide is pretty much the same.
Cyclone
Old
New
The Cyclone used to be dangerous like the Crazy River; riders would fall off it. The new Cyclone is more of a family ride, so it isn't as steep. However, the new Cyclone is longer, and features open and enclosed sections.
Arooba Tooba
Old
New
Strangely enough, the old Arooba Tooba was two slides; one a body slide, and one a boat slide. The new slide is just a boat slide, and the drop and bowl are much bigger than the older slides. The new slide has the experience of both slides in one! It looks like the old body slide, and functions like the old boat slide.
Vortex
Old
New
The old Vortex was a nightmare. Possibly the worst Minecraft waterslide I've ever made. It was impossible to go two blocks without getting stuck. The bowl was also slow, and the water current didn't even allow riders to spin around. The new slide fixes all of those problems. It's fast, riders rarely get stuck, and riders actually spin around in the bowl. One hell of an improvement.
Typhoon
Old
New
Typhoon also got an upgrade! The new slide is much faster, longer, and more fun! The old slide was also much better than Vortex.
Crazy Cone
Old
New
The new Crazy Cone got two more funnels (a total of six) and riders are able to swing up the walls, unlike in the old slide. The new slide also features a drop at the bottom to give a bit of thrill to the mix.
Devil's Drop (Previously Dare Devil)
Old
New
Devil's Drop really took things to another level. The old 51 block tall slide was raised 49 blocks to make the all new 100 block tall monster. The new slide is faster, better, and more thrilling. The transitions from glass to concrete are shorter to give it the illusion that riders are falling at speeds faster than insanity.
Freefall (previously drop)
Old
New
Upgrades people, upgrades. The new slide is much safer, taller, and faster. The 46 block tall slide was raised to a whopping 70 blocks. Riders couldn't even stay on the old slide!
Blue Rapids
Old
New
The new and improved Blue Rapids really takes things sky high. The 56 block tall slide was viciously raised to a massive 100 blocks. The new slide is again safer, faster, and more of a thrill!
Niagara Falls
Old
New
The old Niagara Falls was a suicide chute. It was IMPOSSIBLE, I mean IMPOSSIBLE to land in the pool. The newer, safer slide is also shorter. The old slide was 56 blocks and the new slide is 50 blocks.
Point of No Return
Old
New
When the 128 block limit was raised to 256, that meant one thing. GO HIGHER! The new slide is 129 blocks taller than the old slide, making it an insane 248 blocks in the air. Don't worry, the new slide is also much safer. Riders couldn't even land on the old slide without dying. The new Point of No Return took it all the way to the limit.
Time Warp
Old
New
The Time Warp slide at Noah's Ark is in Minecraft! The first slide looked weird and didn't work well. The old slide has a torch in place of a jack-o-lantern. The new slide is taller, faster, bigger, and has a dinosaur jack-o-lantern that flashes lights all around!
Tiger's Tail
Old
New
The first enclosed spiral slide in Minecraft was recreated to work better. The new slide is also shorter.
Black Hole
Old
New
The Black Hole saw the biggest change, because the whole slide was transformed! The old body slide was turned into a minecart slide where riders drop into a pitch-black funnel. The new Black Hole really shines over its older self!
Mammoth
Old
New
The new Mammoth is more fun to ride, and also has an open section. Apart from that, both slides are relatively the same.
Viral Spiral
Old
New
Everything here has been boosted; the height, the length, the speed, the thrill, and the pure terror. The new slide is also quite an eye-catcher. Viral Spiral 2.0 for the win!
Blastaway Beach (previously kids area)
Old
New
Blastaway Beach now has even more slides, more fun, and is a park eye-catcher for its sandcastle slide tower. And yes, the new slides are safe.
The new version of Lazuli Lake has more slides, more fun, more adventures, and more limits broken! The new Lazuli Lake has 79 slides, more than TWICE as much as the old park. Ready to slide?
Lazuli Lake 2020 Expansion
Believe it or not, I finished the map in 2019. I felt like there was a lot of open space, so I added more slides in 2020. Here are before and after pictures.
